International School Leon Štukelj Maribor Opens Early Years Programme
A new chapter is beginning for the youngest learners at the International School Leon Štukelj Maribor with the IB programme. In September of the school year 2026/2027, the school will proudly launch the Early Years programme, designed for children aged 4 and 5 and based on the International Baccalaureate©(IB) curriculum. If compared to Slovenian education system, those are children attending the second age group of kindergarten.

Welcome to the Leon Štukelj International School website.
Leon Štukelj International School Maribor is part of IB World Schools with an accredited PYP programme and a candidate for MYP programme. These schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.

THE SCHOOL AREA
The school is situated in a quiet neighbourhood of the Maribor district of Nova vas, which lies at the foot of Pohorje Hill.
EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES
Each group has its homeroom equipped with a computer and a projector. Students visit other classrooms for Sports, Science and Computer classes.
THE SCHOOL LIBRARY
Our library comprises 10,000 items of books and non-fiction material and 35 titles of periodicals. The library collection is updated monthly.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Leon Štukelj International School offers students a diverse assortment of extracurricular activities that inspire participants to develop new skills, discover and nurture individual interests and talents and share intercultural perspectives while fostering new social networks and friendships.
SCHOOL MEALS
Pupils have the option of breakfast, snack, lunch and afternoon snack. As part of the ECO SCHOOL, HEALTHY SCHOOL project, the school provides healthy, varied, balanced, safe, secure and tasty food.
